International Trips

Warm water, exceptional visibility, and reefs that don't exist anywhere closer to home. Here's a look at the places we've been and the destinations we usually head to overseas.

Where we go

Our international trips are small-group, built around wherever the diving is best that season. Exact destinations and dates vary from trip to trip, but here's where we've taken divers before and where we tend to keep going back to.

Red Sea, Egypt

One of the world's great dive destinations — warm water, exceptional visibility, dramatic drop-offs, and reefs so healthy they've become the stuff of diver legend. We've run trips to Sharm el-Sheikh (Ras Mohammed National Park and the Straits of Tiran), Hurghada (day-boat access to reefs and wrecks including the famous Thistlegorm), Dahab (laid-back shore diving at the Blue Hole and the Canyon), and Marsa Alam (quieter reefs further south with a good chance of dugongs, reef sharks and manta rays). Trips are often built around a week living aboard a liveaboard, waking up on the dive site each morning instead of commuting to it.

Zanzibar, Tanzania

Warm Indian Ocean water, white sand, and easy, relaxed reef diving alongside a proper island holiday. A regular on our trip calendar when the season lines up.

Mafia Island, Tanzania

Quieter and less developed than Zanzibar, with excellent reef diving and a good chance of swimming with whale sharks in season — one for divers after something a little further off the beaten path.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which international destinations does Scubaversity visit?

We've run trips to the Red Sea in Egypt (Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada, Dahab and Marsa Alam), Zanzibar in Tanzania, and Mafia Island in Tanzania. The exact destination and itinerary varies by trip — get in touch and we'll confirm what's coming up next.

What certification level do I need?

Advanced Open Water certification (or equivalent experience) is recommended for most international destinations, especially the Red Sea, given the drop-offs and deeper reef sites involved.

What's included in the price, and what isn't?

Pricing and inclusions depend on the specific trip and destination. International flights are never included, and it's your own responsibility to arrange your passport and travel. Contact us for current pricing and full inclusions before booking.

Bring your certification card, logbook, and your own dive gear if you have it. Group size is limited, so get in touch early, especially for peak season dates.
