Divemaster

Your first professional rating. As a Divemaster you can guide certified divers, supervise activities and assist instructors on courses. It's the foundation of every diving career. See the full Divemaster page →

Instructor path

Continue through Assistant Instructor and the full Instructor Development Course (IDC) to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor — qualified to certify divers of your own. Already an Assistant Instructor? The AI to OWSI Upgrade takes you the rest of the way without repeating what you've already done. From there, Master Scuba Diver Trainer, IDC Staff Instructor and EFR Instructor take your career further.
