Mozambique Adventures – Jade 2019 Intern

Excitement fills the dive centre as we wait for everyone to arrive for the convoy — and as the clock hits 12:00, we're on our way to Ponta Malongane.

The journey took the group along Mozambique's sandy roads to a rustic beachfront camp near some of the region's most popular reefs. After arrival, the team unpacked and sat through a camp briefing before heading out to explore the local markets, meet the residents, and get properly stuck into holiday mode — four-wheel driving on the dunes and evenings at spots like Jack's Barefoot Bar, Ninho's, Sunset Shack and 360.

Pinnacles: the trip's favourite dive

Pinnacles was the group's favourite dive site — a deep dive where the colours shift dramatically with depth. The team even ran an experiment with an egg underwater, and encountered plenty of big marine life along the way, including huge potato bass and a few bull sharks.

Back on land, the kitchen stayed just as busy — the true heart of any Scubaversity trip.

What stood out most was the friendliness and hospitality of the local community, making for a relaxing, welcoming trip that the team can't wait to repeat.
