What to Pack for Your Mafia Islands Dive Trip

Getting ready for our Scubaversity Zanzibar & Mafia Islands dive trip? Packing right is one of the easiest ways to make sure the journey stays smooth, stress-free, and unforgettable. Here's our comprehensive checklist to help you get sorted before you go.

Diving Essentials

Pack your mask, fins, and any personal exposure protection, water temperatures vary, so consider a 3mm shorty or full suit depending on your dive schedule and duration. Bring your dive computer, BCD, and regulator if you have your own set, plus the usual safety items. Don't forget reef-safe sunscreen and a mesh gear bag to keep everything organised and quick-drying.

Travel Necessities

Clothing

Bring a couple of sets of swimwear, rash guards for sun protection, lightweight casual wear for the island heat, something a little smarter for dinners, comfortable footwear, a sun hat, and a light rain jacket for the odd tropical shower.

Electronics, Entertainment & Toiletries

If you're bringing a camera, pack its underwater housing along with a power bank and the right plug adapter (Type D & G for Tanzania). Toss in something to read or listen to for the flight and downtime. For toiletries, stick to reef-safe products and biodegradable alternatives wherever you can, our reefs will thank you.

We can't wait to make some amazing memories with you on this trip!
